DP World Southampton Shares Expertise with Maputo, Mozambique

Pictured (L-R) - Mark LeCarpentier and Geoff Cane-RichardsonTwo of DP World Southampton’s employees, Mark Le Carpentier and Geoff
Cane-Richardson, will be spending the next 12 weeks sharing their knowledge with the container terminal in Maputo, Mozambique in which DP World has a 60% shareholding.  Their time in Maputo will be spent training the terminal operators how to operate the terminal’s two new mobile harbour cranes.

Mark and Geoff work in the operations department in Southampton where they are both work place trainers and hold a professional qualification in the delivery of training.  They provide training to new as well as existing employees in all activities involved in container handling such as operating straddle carriers, quayside cranes and mobile harbour cranes.

Talking about the training, Steve Ware, Training Manager, DP World Southampton:

“It is through DP World Southampton being part of a global network of container terminals that this opportunity has arisen.  This is a great chance for both Mark and Geoff to not only share their knowledge with their colleagues in Maputo but also to learn from operating in another terminal and, hopefully, enjoy the experience of working in another country.”
