MOL Cosmos Marks the Return of MOL to DP World Southampton

MOL Cosmos alongside the container terminalAt 320 metres in length and capable of carrying over 8000 containers, the MOL Cosmos was an impressive sight as she arrived at DP World Southampton for the first time on Monday 15 December 2008. Although MOL has been offering services as part of The New World Alliance, the arrival marked a return of MOL-owned vessels to the port after a break of several months.

Talking about the visit, Campbell Mason, Managing Director, DP World Southampton, said:

We are delighted to welcome the Captain and crew of the MOL Cosmos on her maiden call to DP World Southampton.  As one of our oldest customers, I am especially pleased to welcome MOL back to the terminal and we look forward to servicing MOL ships in Southampton for many years to come.”

Adrian Jones, MOL’s Regional General Manager for the UK and Ireland, added:

“MOL has been a long-time supporter of the port of Southampton and we are very pleased to be able to include our newest and biggest vessels in the services we offer to and from the port.”
