BIFA Awards Finalists Announced

A record number of entries have been received for the Freight Service Awards organised by the British International Freight Association (BIFA) which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

For the third consecutive year, DP World Southampton is sponsoring the Ocean Freight Award category and was involved in the short listing of the finalists. 

The finalists for the Ocean Freight Award category are the following companies:

Ideal Forwarding Ltd
Uniserve Group  

Talking about his involvement in the judging, Derek Smith, Business Development Manager, DP World Southampton, said: 

“The task of judging the Ocean Freight Award category was a particularly hard one given the very high standard of the entries received.  I would like to congratulate all of the finalists on getting to this stage and look forward to meeting them at the awards ceremony.”  

The award winners will be announced at the BIFA Annual Lunch and Awards Ceremony to be held at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London on Thursday 22 January 2008.  Special guest, broadcaster and former MP Kensington & Chelsea and Conservative Transport Minister, the Rt Hon Michael Portillo, will host the event.  More than 450 BIFA members and their guests are expected to attend.
