DP World Southampton Supports Britain's Reserve Forces & Cadets

Pictured (L-R) Vice Admiral Alan Massey CBE, Campbell Mason, Dame Mary Fagan and Charles AspinellDP World Southampton has been recognised for the support it provides to the Reserve Forces at a reception onboard HMS Victory, the oldest commissioned warship in the world.  The event was hosted by the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Dame Mary Fagan, and Vice Admiral Alan Massey CBE, The Second Sea Lord and Commander in Chief Naval Home Command.

The main purpose of the evening was to thank employers for their support of the Reserve Forces in particular, during mobilisation.  Campbell Mason, DP World Southampton’s Managing Director received a certificate on behalf of the company and was joined by Charles Aspinell, DP World Southampton’s Administration Manager who is an active member of the Royal Naval Reserve.

Talking about the event, Campbell Mason, said:

“I was very grateful to receive the certificate, on behalf of the company, recognising our support as an employer but I would emphasise that the debt of gratitude is very much owed, by us all, for the work and dedication carried out by the Reserve Forces alongside the Armed Forces.

We are very pleased to support as much as possible the small number of employees who are active members of the Reserve Forces, one of whom has just returned home safely after seven months in Afghanistan with the Territorial Army.”

Vice Admiral Massey added:

“We do not take the support that employers have given to our Reservists for granted, we are enormously grateful.  We would not be able to run current operations if it were not for our Reserves, they bring a huge number of niche skills with them.”
