New Empty Container Handlers Coming into Service

New empty container handler operating in the empty parkThe first two empty container handlers have become operational at DP World Southampton’s Empty Park. These machines mark the first stage of the investment programme announced in the August issue of eMonthly which will see the terminal  upgrade and expand its empty container handling equipment with a total order of eight CVS Ferrari UK empty container handlers.

The next remaining six machines are scheduled to arrive and be commissioned into operation during Q1 of this year.

Talking about the machines, Steve McCrindle, Operations Manager, DP World Southampton, said:

“Through investing in new empty container handling equipment, we are able to deliver a fast and efficient empty container handling service to our customers as well as increase the capacity of our existing Empty Park.

With two of the new machines already in operation it has given our drivers the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the ergonomics of the cab and get experience in driving them.”
