DP World Southampton Continues to Support The Cedar School

Maddy Petzer, HR Policy & Projects Manager and Bill Gowman, Operations Resource Manager pictured presenting the cheques to the pupils of The Cedar SchoolDP World Southampton has continued to pledge its support to The Cedar School in Redbridge, a purpose built school for physically disabled children aged between 3 and 16 years.

The company has donated over £1,200 to the charity which comes from money raised in exchange for pantomime tickets as well as through an extra incentive for staff to take part in a global employee engagement survey.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to the theatre to take in a pantomime with the kids.  The company purchased a total of 200 tickets for the Nuffield Theatre’s production of Aladdin.  The tickets were then given out to employees in return for a £5 per ticket donation.

In December, DP World launched its first ever global employee engagement survey and as an extra incentive to encourage staff to take part and complete the survey, the company pledged to donate to The Cedar School.  The greater the response, the greater the donation to the charity.

Talking about the donations, Lynsey Haynes, Marketing & Communications Manager, DP World Southampton, said:

“We were delighted to be able to donate over £1,200 to such a worthwhile and local charity as The Cedar School as well as entertain the kids at the pantomime all into the same bargain!  Offering our staff the extra incentive to complete our global employee engagement survey also helped improve the response rate and increase the donation to the charity.”
