DP World Southampton Achieves Training Certification

DP World Southampton has achieved category two certification to the Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register (ITSSAR).

This new certification allows the terminal’s training centre and trainers to provide accredited fork truck training to both DP World Southampton employees and employees of external organisations.

Talking about the certification Bill Gowman, Operational Resource Manager, said:

“This new certification is another feather in the cap of DP World Southampton’s training centre.  Initial work on achieving the certification began in the autumn of last year so success is a great reward for all the hard work put in by the Training Department.”

In order to achieve certification, the terminal had to demonstrate a number of things including the skills of its trainers, compliance with necessary health and safety requirements as well as competent lesson planning.  All of these areas will be reviewed annually to ensure compliance and

re-certification.
