DP World Southampton Continues to Support The Cedar School

Graham Dowland, Terminal Operator hands over the cheque to a willing recipient

DP World Southampton has continued to pledge its support to The Cedar School in Redbridge, a purpose built school for physically disabled children aged between 3 and 16 years, located less than three miles from the terminal.

This year, the company has donated over £700 to the charity which comes from money raised in exchange for pantomime tickets.

Christmas is a time for families and it just wouldn’t be complete without the annual trip to the theatre to take in a pantomime with the kids.  The company purchased tickets for the Nuffield Theatre’s production of the Wind in the Willows which are then sold onto employees in return for a £5 per ticket donation.

Talking about the donations, Lynsey Haynes, Marketing & Communications Manager, DP World Southampton, said:

“It’s great that we have been able to continue our support, again this year, for The Cedar School.  The school provides such a valuable service to the local community and without donations like ours, it would struggle.  This is a win, win situation for all involved – our employees get a night out at the theatre with their families and thanks to their donations, The Cedar School receives over £700.”
