Piam Brown Children's Cancer Ward Receives Much Needed Donation

Tony Patten, Terminal Operator (left) presents cheque to Jane Buchanan, Fundraising Manager for Piam BrownDP World Southampton was proud to be able to donate £2,300 to the Piam Brown Children’s Cancer Ward at Southampton General Hospital.

Piam Brown provides much needed support for a wide age range of young people battling cancer as well as their families.  Some of the children will spend weeks at a time on the ward, so our donation which will help them to buy games and toys, should help to keep them occupied and stimulated.

Tony Patten, Terminal Operator at DP World Southampton visited the ward to personally present, on behalf of the company, the cheque to Jane Buchanan, the ward’s Fundraising Manager.

Talking about his visit, Tony said:   “It was a real privilege to be invited onto the ward and to be able to personally handover the company’s donation and meet some of the children.  Piam Brown provides invaluable support to these fantastic children and their families in such a small amount of space – it’s truly amazing.

It’s good to know that our donation will go towards toys and games which will hopefully help the children to focus their attention on something else other than being in hospital.”
